CHRISTO AND JEANNE-CLAUDE
Sculptures and projects • Würth Collection

9.3. – 28.10.2018

Christo Javacheff (* 1935) and Jeanne-Claude (1935-2009) were one of the most remarkable artists of the twentieth century. Almost 50 years ago, they created beautiful temporary projects that could broaden our conceptions of what art can be – such as the Pont Neuf in Paris, the Berlin Reichstag, landscapes of Japan, California or Australia. In 1995, before covering the Berlin Reichstag, which transformed the striking building into a sculptural monument of purposeless beauty and attracted crowds of curious people to the reunited German capital, they realized the project “Wrapped Floors” in the German company center of the Würth Group in Künzelsau and Stairways and Covered Windows, Project for Museum Würth, Germany, 1995 “.

With about 130 works the Würth Collection has one of the largest collections of Christo works worldwide. Reason enough to show an exhibition in the Forum Würth Chur, which opened in 2002 with a Christo exhibition, a new compilation of this stock. In addition, a wide accompanying program is offered, where you get to know the artists as well as their projects. Find more informations in the Brochure about the exhibition.
