Horst Antes (*1936), one of the outstanding representatives of New Figuration in Germany, became known to a large audience in his early years because of his motif of the so-called ”Kopffüssler” or head-footer. He created this art figure in the early 1960s and it is to be found in many forms, both in his paintings and in his sculptures. It has engaged the artist for decades due to its large physical and above all emotional scope.
Horst Antes lives and works in Sicellino/Italy, Karlsruhe-Wolfartsweier and Berlin. With the exhibition at the Forum Würth Chur, for the first time in Switzerland the Würth Collection is showing its extensive holdings of works by Horst Antes with which it can fully cover all the individual phases in the artist’s oeuvre.
